Hi everyone,
Am taking the pains to document my experience because I have been helped a lot by that of others in this forum right from day one of the whole immigration process. Enough said,I entered the US on 3/14 and on day5 (3/19) I went to the local social security admin office in my area thinking I would get my SSN since I ticked the box 33a or something in my DS-230. Well I was told to return after I had been 21days to allow the DHS(immigration pple) upload all my info on the system. Exactly day21,I showed up at the office again with my previously filled application(you pick one at the office),and this tym a different rep says its 21 ”buisiness days"!! And I almost lost it,however my husband calmed me and told the man to please enquire again and it turned out I could apply. So he inputted the, necessary data, printed out a reciept for me(this was04/05) and today I went back and got mySSN. Expect the card should come in the next 3wks. So this is to all CR1/IR1,don't assume your ssn is auto after one week make a move. Find info, call the office so you don't wait forever...... Just saying.......... |
