I-129F NVC - Accuracy of I-129F Vermont Service Center Processing times
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone just received their NOA2 from the Vermont Service Center. I did some research and found that the VSC releases a consistent 6-month window every month, even though there was a massive price increase last August and a flood of applications last July.
The February release says they are just completing applications that were filed August 19th of 2007. The January release said they were just finishing applications from July 19th (hmmm) and when I checked the VSC Archives, every new release shows a 6 month window, despite workload irregularities. I'm trying to decide how I'm going to spend the next 6 months of my life and some input would help. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!! |

6 months is the lowest number you will ever see them post.. it gives them some wiggle room.
You are much better off observing what other recent filers are experiencing (like iubita!) bearing in mind that no two cases are identical. |

Yeah, the six-month window doesn't reflect what's actually going on with most of the cases, it's more like, the oldest cases they still have in are from six months ago... most cases get through faster than that. They posted a 6-month waiting time last year too, and our case got through in 3 weeks! (This was before the fee increase backlog.) But VSC seems to be picking up speed again since the backlog of last summer, so hang in there!

THANKS!
Dear All,
Thank you so much for the insight. It's helped me make a pretty critical decision as to my location and employment for the next six months of my life. More questions to come! |

Glad to hear we were able to help! Obviously there are no guarantees as to how long it will take, every case is different... but I'm sure you realize that. I hope your case sails through without trouble!

Thanks for the info. Yeah I hope to God that it gives at least an idea of when it will be processed...they got my forms in September, 2007. I PRAY it is not far off for me and my wife...

Like everybody already said, every case is different.
As for ours... I sent it to VSC on Jan 12. We were approved on Feb 27 (46 days). 14 days later it was already at the embassy and we already have an interview scheduled for April 4. We'll finish the whole process in under 3 months, so I wouldn't necessarily plan waiting 6 months if I were you. The one suggestion that I will make is to be ready for the next step (getting the docs and forms ready for the interview) because the NOA2 can come any day. Somebody was just approved in 29 days. It varies, so be ready. |
