NVC - I-130 Petition For married sons and daughter of US National over 21
Hi Everyone,
My PD is 25-DEC-2005. My petition was filed by my mother in US who is already a US national. I received I-797C Notice of Action that my case is now being transferred to NVC for further processing. I fall in the 3rd category. Can anyone please let me know, how much time it actually takes specially from Islamabad, Pakistan to get the immigration under the category that I fall. Also where can I find the current case date for Islamabad. I know that the process has become much faster since past few months. I shell be really grateful for your help. Best Regards Farrukh |

Your immigration process has begun, since NVC has your case now. From now, it will probably be another few months until you have your interview date in Pakistan.
Be aware, though, that almost every Pakistani mail gets put on Admin Processing after the interview, and that can take anywhere from several months to a couple of years to process. So there's no way of really saying when you'll receive your visa. Rene |

Rene, Farruk is in the F3 family preference category. His I-130 has not been approved. It is being transferred to the National Benefits Center. This is happening a lot recently. Approval of the I-130 should happen in the next 2-3 months. His case after approval will be transferred to the NVC to await for an available visa. His interview will not happen for probably another 4-5 years, not months. VNK |

Sorry...the OP said his case was transferred to NVC, so I assumed he has an approved I-130. To my knowledge, NVC only receives the I-130 after it has been approved.
The OP didn't mention National Benefits Center. Rene |

Good Day, First of all thanks all for helping.
Please read below the actual wording that I received in I-797C. These are first 2 paragraphs. The letter does not say any thing about National Benefit Center. After reading, please let me know if this changes anything. "The above petiotion has been approved. We have sent the original visa petiotion to the Department of Sate National Visa Center (NVC), 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petiotions that need consular action. It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consulate to complete visa processing. NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate. The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petiotioning (beneficiary) concerning further immigrant visa processing steps. If you have any questions about visa issuance, please contact the NVC directly. However please allow at least 90 days before calling the NVC if your beneficiary does not receive any correspondence from NVC. The telephone number of the NVC is (603) 334-0700." Hope this provides further clarity of my case. Looking forward for your valueable suggestions. Best Regards Farrukh |

The I-130 has been approved, and the case lives at NVC now.
Keep checking the visa bulletin, and when you see your date become current, then you can expect NVC to contact you (or the USC) regarding the next steps. I haven't looked at the visa bulletin, so I don't know what priority date they are currently working on in your category. If your priority date is current, someone should be hearing from NVC soon. I stand corrected. Look at the Visa Bulletin. The current PD is June 22, 2001, for F3 cases in most countries. You are still looking at a 4 years wait for the next step. |

Also, your profile says that you've applied for adjustment of status but your post indicates that you're applying for an immigrant visa? The NVC does not issue visas, it only collects the application materials for immigrant visas. The visa will be gotten from a consulate after the application has been made. ______________________________________________________ Raven Chief Inspector, Profile Police (who does not respond to PMs) |
